The year’s EW reunion issue didn’t necessary reunite the cast of Arrested Development but gathered them together to talk about the new season of the cult classic that’s underway.
The entire original cast appeared on one of four EW collectible covers and dressed up in Renaissance era costumes for their photo shoot.
The show debuted in 2006 on Fox before being cancelled after three seasons. Devoted fans kept the show alive by praying for a movie version. Ten new episodes of the show are currently in production and will air on Netflix before an eventual movie version.
Since the demise of the show, the cast has kept busy with their in-demand careers so it was an embarrassment of riches that they were able to come back together to work on the beloved show.
Original cast members Jason Bateman, David Cross, Will Arnett, Portia De Rossi, Michael Cera, Jessica Walter, Tony Hale, Jeffrey Tambor, Alia Shawkat, and series creator Mitchell Hurwitz reconvened to talk to EW about the new episodes, the movie and how it felt to get the gang all back together.
“‘It feels like playing with house money, that somebody else is paying for us to throw a reunion party and come back together to laugh again,’ marvels Jason Bateman.”
“‘It’s like waves and waves and waves of gratitude, because it’s truly an experience like no other,’ echoes Will Arnett.“
