Filming for Disney’s Lone Ranger directed by Gore Verbinski (Pirates of the Caribbean) recently wrapped filming. The film stars Johnny Depp (Dark Shadow) as Tonto and Armie Hammer as The Lone Ranger (J. Edgar).
Director Gore Verbinski compares the film to Midnight Run and describes the film as an unlikely buddy movie.
“It’s a dysfunctional buddy movie,” he says. “It’s two guys who start literally and figuratively handcuffed together who end up on the same mission with completely different world views. They sort of rub off on one another. But they have plenty of disagreements.”
The film also stars Ruth Wilson (Anna Karenina) and Helena Bonham Carter (Dark Shadows).
The Lone Ranger is set to be released on July 3, 2013.
