The musical comedy, Pitch Perfect was directed by Jason Moore (Avenue Q) and written by Kay Cannon (New Girl, 30 Rock). Anna Kendrick (End of Watch) stars as Becca who dreams of being a music producer. She attends Barden University and winds up joining an all-female a cappella singing group called The Belles. With The Belles, Becca finds herself in the cut-throat world of college music competition fighting to climb their way to the top. The film blends both new takes on old favorite songs with latest hits of today.
The film also stars Skylar Astin as Jesse, Rebel Wilson as Amy, Adam Devine as Bumper, Brittany Snow as Chloe, Anna Camp as Aubrey, Ester Dean as Cynthia Rose, Alexis Knapp as Stacie, Hana Mae Lee as Lilly, John Michael Higgins as John and Elizabeth Banks as Gail.
The movie’s original released date was October 5 but Universal decided to move the date up a week earlier and have it open in theaters nationwide on Friday, September 28.
The movie took in about $5.2 million in domestic grosses its opening weekend.
