The new season of Revenge kicks off at its new Sunday night time slot.  Season 2 picks up after the season 1 cliffhanger.  Emily is changing quite a bit this season with the introduction of her mother.  Showrunner Mike Kelley reveals Emily becomes more of “a revenging angel, a vigilante in a lot of ways, not just focused on herself.”  She’s still taking down deserving Hampton’s residents but her mother’s presence will throw multiple wrenches into the series.  Kelley wants to see Emily evolve and try to connect in some way with her mother.

The addictive series stars Madeleine Stowe As Victoria Grayson, Emily Van Camp as Emily Thorne, Gabriel Mann as Nolan Ross, Josh Bowman as Daniel Grayson, Ashley Madekwe as Ashley Davenport, Nick Wechsler as Jack Porter, Henry Czerny as Conrad Grayson, Christa B. Allen as Charlotte Grayson and Connor Paolo as Declan Porter.

Revenge premieres tonight on ABC at 9/8 central.

The Mentalist season 5 premieres tonight in its new time slot.  Showrunner Bruno Heller  promises a big season in terms of the Red John story.  The show will take a leap forward so Jane and the audience will learn something important about the elusive serial killer, Red John that makes the hunt for him “inches away instead of miles.”  The focal point of the season will be Red John’s accomplice (Emmanuelle Chriqui) who was captured in last season’s finale.  The CBI, Jane and the FBI will battle for custody over the key witness who can reveal the killer’s identity.  The agents are led by guest star, Polly Walker (Rome).  Ivan Sergei (Crossing Jordan) also joins the series as FBI Agent Gabe Mancini.  Bruno Heller doesn’t say when the identity of Red John will be revealed but did hint that he may be an existing cast member.

The cast includes Simon Baker as Patrick Jane, Tim Kang as Kimball Cho, Owain Yeoman as Wayne Rigsby, Robin Tunney as Teresa Lisbon and Amanda Righetti as Grace Van Pelt.

The Mentalist season 5 premieres tonight at 10/9 central on CBS.
