The Toronto International Film Festival Premieres, Photocalls and Press Conferences: ‘The Iceman,’ ‘Arthur Newman,’ ‘Dangerous Liaisons,’ ‘Hyde Park on the Hudson,’ ‘Everybody Has a Plan’ and ‘To the Wonder’


Events at the Toronto International Film Festival for The Iceman, Everybody Has a Plan, To the Wonder, Hyde Park on the Hudson, Arthur Newman, and Dangerous Liaisons.

Winona Ryder, Ray Liotta, Michael Shannon and Chris Evans attend the TIFF press conference for Ariel Vromen’s The Iceman.  The film is a true account of the life and crimes of New Jersey contract killer, Richard Kulinski who killed over 100 people before he was apprehended in 1986.  The Iceman is a portrait of a remorseless killer leading a double life as a killer-for-hire and family man.

Argentinian writer/director Ana Piterbarg has her feature debut at TIFF for her film, Everybody Has a Plan.  The Spanish language film stars Viggo Mortensen playing duel roles as a man who swaps places with his identical twin brother so he can escape his obligations.   

Bill Murray is flanked by his co-stars Laura Linney and Olivia Williams at the TIFF premiere of Roger Mitchell’s Hyde Park on the Hudson.  Murray portrays President Franklin Delano Roosevelt as he host King George VI of England for a weekend visit at his country estate in Hyde Park, New York.

Emily Blunt and Colin Firth attend the TIFF premiere of their new film, Arthur Newman.   Emily Blunt was also in town to support her other film, Looper which kicked-off the festival.  Danta Ariola directed the drama about two strangers played by Firth and Blunt who fall in love while trying to escape their ordinary past lives.

Ziyi  Zhang and Korean actor Dong-gun Jang attend the TIFF press conference of Dangerous Liaisons.  Director Hur Jin-Ho sets his adaption of Pierre Choderlos de Laclos’ French novel, Les Liaisons Dangereuses in 1930s Shanghai.  Jang Dong-gun takes on the role of the womanizing playboy who plays destructive power games with a scheming ex-lover played by Cecilia Cheung.  Ziyi Zhang plays a young widow who becomes the innocent pawn in the two lovers’ power struggle.

Rachel McAdams and Olga Kurylenko attend the TIFF premiere of their film, To the Wonder.  The Terrence Malick drama is an account of the tumultuous romantic life of one man.  The film stars Ben Affleck who is also in town to support his film Argo.  Affleck is not the only star pulling double duty.  His co-star Olga Kurylenko is at the festival to help promote Seven Psychopaths.
