Toronto International Film Festival Premiere of ‘Dredd 3D’ and ‘The First’


Michael Pitt and Lily Rabe attend the premiere of The First at the 37th annual Toronto Film Festival.  The film is based on the novel Pickford: The Woman Who Made Hollywood by Eileen Whitfield.  Julie Pacino, daughter of actor Al Pacino, produced and directed the biopic about silent film star and pioneering Hollywood producer, Mary Pickford.  Lily Rabe from American Horror Storyplays Pickford and Michael Pitt from Boardwalk Empire is Owen Moore.

Stars Karl Urban and Olivia Thirlby attend the premiere of Dredd 3D, a re-boot of  the 1995 Judge Dredd starring Sylvester Stallone.  Judge Dredd is based on a 2000 AD British comic set in a dystopian future where law enforcers are given the authority to be judge, jury, and executioner.  Karl Urban is Judge Dredd and Olivia Thirlby is rookie Judge Anderson; both are tasked with bringing order to a slum run by drug lord, Ma-Ma played by Game of Thrones’ Lena Headey.
