Alexander Skarsgard of True Blood fame is no longer the only actor that comes to mind when the words “Swedish” and “hunk” are thrown out. Fellow Swede, Joel Kinnamen generated as much buzz as his fellow countryman for playing Detective Stephen Holder in the now cancelled AMC whodunit drama,The Killing.
Both actors were tapped to be the faces of new ad campaigns. Alexander Skarsgard is the face for Calvin Klein Encounter fragrance and Joel Kinnamen is the new face for H&M. Skarsgard, looking very sexy and smoldering was featured in a new commercial for Calvin Klein Encounter.
Kinnamen may not be saying good-bye to Detective Holden just yet. The AMC mystery drama, The Killing may get a third season courtesy of Netflix and DirecTV. Fox Studios was approached by the DVD rental/streaming service, Netflix and satellite provider, DirecTV to pick up the cancelled show for another season.
Netflix and DirecTV are expanding into new and original programming. Netflix is currently shooting the cancelled Fox comedy, Arrested Developmentand DirecTV is airing the final season of the cancelled FX drama, Damages.
In a recent interview with DuJour Magazine, Kinnamen talked about getting his start as an actor on a Swedish soap and then taking a break from acting.
“For a long time, I had a life aside from acting,” he says. “I lived my life. I had my heart broken and loved again before any of this happened.”
Kinnamen will appear in the remake of Robocop and Alexander Skarsgard’s fifth season of True Blood is wrapping up this month.
