Keira Knightly in Negotiations for New Jack Ryan Film

Keira Knightly is in negotiations to star opposite Chris Pine (This Means War) in the relaunch of the Jack Ryan franchise based on Tom Clany’s series of books.  This version of the Jack Ryan story will be a prequel to the previous movies starring Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford and Ben Affleck.  Knightly will play the wife to Chris Pine’s Jack Ryan. The movie will be directed by Kenneth Branagh who previously directed Thor.  Other stars considered for the Knightly role were Evangelina Lilly from the TV series Lost and Felicity Jones from the movie Like Crazy.

According to The Hollywood Report, the story will center on ex-Marine and  Moscow-based financial analyst, Jack Ryan who uncovers a plot by his employers to fund a terrorist attack designed to collapse the U.S. economy.  It is up to Jack Ryan to thwart the terrorist plot and save America.

Keira Knightly will next be seen in Anna Karenina directed by Joe Wright who also directed her in Pride and Prejudice and Atonement.
