In an interview at Comic-Con 2012 with The Hollywood Reporter, Anna Torv who plays Olivia Dunham in the Fox drama Fringe reveals details for the final season. The season will start with a time jump to the year 2036 that was introduced in last season’s episode 19 which was the first glimpse of the world run by the Observers. Torv was not in the episode and was asked details on how Olivia will be introduced into that future world once the season starts.
“We do start in 2036, which is kind of cool because I haven’t been in that world yet,” she told THR. “I wasn’t in [episode 19 of last season], which was sort of the first taste of the Observer-ruled world was like. It’s all very new to me.”
When pressed for details on how Olivia is introduced into the episode, Torv said with a laugh: “It’s extremely endearing — and that’s all I can say.
Torv has hopes for the return of previous cast members such as Kirk Acevedo who played Olivia’s partner, Agent Charlie Francis and Seth Gabel who was Agent Lincoln Lee to make an appearance in the last season. She also wants to see the return of Fauxlivia from the alternate universe; even though chances of that are slim for now. “‘I hope that we really haven’t said goodbye,’ she says”.
Fringe will hold its Comic-Con panel on Sunday for the first time in Hall H. The final season of the series will air in the fall.
